Carlton Books’ retrospective was authored by film historian Peter Cowie (former international publishing director of Variety and author of over thirty books, including Ingmar Bergman: A Critical Biography). I was fortunate enough to be asked to dive through the Paramount visual archives, with the tough task of selecting the photobook’s images, which included stacks of old school B/W slides featuring young unknowns Francis Ford Coppola, Diane Keaton and Al Pacino.
